Our February 25th Superhero is Sarah! Sarah is also a survivor or childhood cancer, she was 8 years old at the time of diagnosis, and by the age of 9 she was in remission. She was brave, and underwent many medical operations and procedures. The things that make her strong are her faith, her family, and her friends. Her favorite superheroes are both of her grandmothers, who were also both cancer survivors. They tougher her manners, respect for others and nature, perseverance, responsibility, and how to be a hard working woman, daughter, sister, wife mother, grandmother and friends. If she could have any superpower it would to be able to provide a family with shelter, food, clothing, clean waters, and medical care to every person, she would also like the superpower to cure cancer and completely eradicate it so that it does not exist. Sarah loves spending quality time with her husband, family, and friends during meals, being active, watching movies, and going on vacations. She decided to become a Child Life Specialist because she has a passion for health care, hospitals and children. She says she has two important jobs in the hospital, one is to make sure patients and families have a positive experience and two is to teach patients and families about medical procedures, equipment and diagnosis! She loves advocating for the patient and their families and she loves empowering patients and their families by teaching them different coping skills.
