Calling all Tucson Back to School Shoppers for 2017!

Social workers from Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, Banner Children’s at Cardon Children’s Medical Center, Banner Diamond Children’s Medical Center-Tucson and Phoenix Children’s Hospital are currently identifying 40 families dealing with childhood cancer that would benefit from being adopted for the 2017 fall school year.
Adopted families will be matched to shoppers by the 2nd week of June. Each family completes a Family Information Sheet listing the needed clothing/uniforms/and school supplies. Shoppers can use Children’s Cancer Network funds to shop for the family (figuring $125 per student to help cover the expenses of clothing, shoes and school supplies). Shoppers can also provide a certain donation amount towards a family and some even offer to cover the expenses of the whole family. Your time and talents to shop for these families are invaluable to us and donations are not expected or required.
There is tracking and financial paperwork to be completed by each shopper and all receipts of purchases made with CCN funds MUST be returned to the CCN office or one of the coordinators along with the purchases.
This season we ask that shoppers mark each item well and place each student’s gifts into their own back pack unwrapped. Items that don’t fit into the pack back can then be wrapped or put into a gift bag.
We will be offering several Back to School gift and paperwork drop off days for our shoppers’ convenience which will be listed in your Shopper Packet.
