Volunteer – Ronald McDonald Cambridge House, Saturday, November 18, 2017 – Family Dinner @ Ronald McDonald House Cambridge
Nov 18 @ 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Join us at the Ronald McDonald House to serve dinner to the families!  Menu will be planned in advance by the team lead.  Four to Six volunteers are needed to prepare, serve and clean up a healthy dinner.  Enjoy meeting other volunteers and families as you provide service in your community.

Volunteer – Coyotes 50/50 Raffle, Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017 @ Gila River Arena

Please join us in volunteering at the Coyotes game selling 50/50 Raffle tickets. 
*Volunteers must be 18 years or older in order to sell tickets and a limited number of children children (8y and older) are welcome as long as they are paired with an adult. Please let us know who will be attending this volunteer experience with you.
*If you are 18 or older you may be asked to sell alone and not necessarily in pairs. 
* Wear comfortable shoes and be ready to walk or stand for the duration of the game as there are no chairs for volunteers to sit in to sell tickets. 
*Wear warm clothing or a jacket as the arena is cold!  (Please do not wear other sport’s team clothing, head wear, or memorabilia.) 
*There is a training process so please plan on arriving on time and take into account traffic, parking, and the time it takes to walk from the garage.  You may park for free in the employee parking lot or you have the option to pay the normal parking fees to park closer to the stadium. 
*Discounted tickets for family and guests not selling tickets are available based on availability.  These tickets need to be requested and purchased no later than one week before game day.  Please call CCN to arrange for these tickets (480-398-1564). Food and beverages are available at the arena for purchase but no alcohol, please.

Holiday Greetings from CCN!

With temperatures almost under 100 degrees in Arizona, it’s time for Children’s Cancer Network 2017 Winter Holiday Surprises Adopt a family program. Families to be adopted for our Holiday Surprises Program are currently being identified by the social workers at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Banner Children’s at Cardon’s Children’s Medical Center, Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, and Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. Our goal is to make this winter holiday season a bit brighter and offer hope and support to families dealing with childhood cancer.

There are several ways that you can become involved with this program:

Shopping for the family: Volunteer shoppers will be provided with the family information sheet from their adopted family and allotted funds from Children’s Cancer Network to spend on each family. Some shoppers offer to pick up the cost of the gifts for their family; some provide a portion of the dollar amount. If you wish to contribute towards a family, please let us know the amount when you sign up. Although we appreciate any donations, this is NOT required of our shoppers. Does your company offer matching donations for your own donations? Please let us know.

You will be given guidelines to follow with paperwork for bookkeeping purposes including turning in all receipts for purchases. You can seek donations from businesses if you desire and a donation letter will be included in your packet. We appreciate your time and shopping talents to complete the family’s lists which we plan to distribute to our volunteer shoppers around the first of November.

Wrapping the gifts: Our Wrapping party in Tucson at the University of Arizona Banner Medical Center will be held on Saturday, December 9th from 9:00 to 11am. Our Wrapping party for the Phoenix area will be held in Chandler on Sunday, December 10th. Please sign up for the morning (9-11am) or afternoon shift (1-3pm) shift. All gifts are brought to these parties to be wrapped at this event. All ages are welcome to participate in our huge wrapping party. Supplies will be on hand but donations of wrapping paper and tape are always welcome and bringing your own marked scissors is encouraged.

Pasta baskets: These food baskets continue to be a welcome addition to the holiday gifts. We ask for volunteers to donate the basket and contents and create your own theme. Recipe books, aprons, kitchen utensils along or whatever you wish to add with the food make each basket unique. Baskets are created for family sizes of 4, 6, or 8 family members. Nonperishable and non-alcohol items only please. Have fun!
