and their families. This is a multi-track conference with
one track for parents and teen/ young adult survivors and
one track for school aged survivors.
The parent and teen/young
adult survivor track includes information related to potential
physical and emotional issues and keys to dealing with these
issues.
The school
aged survivorship track involves hands on projects with
Beads of Courage and Creative Arts in Healing as well as
some short discussions related to pertinent survivorship
issues. In both tracks, emphasis will be placed upon ways
to cope with these survivorship issues and the related resources
available to childhood cancer survivors and
their families.
Who Should Attend?
Childhood cancer survivors; their parents and siblings;
school nurses, teachers, counselors, student nurses, and
health professionals seeking to understand cancer survivorship
from the survivor’s perspective and the resources
available to deal with some of the current issues that survivors
face.
